Citroën AMI 8 Break 1977

The Citroën Ami 8 was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1969. The Ami 8 was far more conventional in appearance than the Ami 6 that it replaced. The reverse-rake rear window of the 6 was replaced by a fastback and the front end got a smoother look. The Ami 8 became the first “A” series to be fitted with front inboard disc brakes. Advertised as “a practical luxury,” it is a car designed to do many jobs. Quick and maneuverable in town, easy to park, and comfortable on long trips, men find it practical and women find it smart and easy to drive. The five door estate car offered a full height rear door for easy access. The rear seats fold and are removable to provide a flat floor. The Ami 8 can carry 825 pounds and still average 50 mph with little effect on fuel consumption. The separate front seats are fully adjustable.
